Turning Point

I want to testify of the goodness of the Lord in my life during the year 2013. By the end of 2012, a lot of things seemed not to be going right: my job contract was about to end and I learned that it would not be renewed, that meant I would have to leave the country. I was also worried about my career and what the next step would be for me. I felt as though I wasn’t really sure where things were going in my life and I was almost in an emotional turmoil.

That was my state of mind when I was in Maryland and Pastor Dale started the series on the topic ‘Turning Point’. I asked God for a turning point in my life. Specifically, I asked God to settle me geographically, professionally and in my relationship. I wasn’t sure where I should be geographically, what I should pursue professionally and I beginning to doubt the outcome of my relationship. Today, I want to testify and thank God for answering my prayers and bringing about a turning point in my life.

Not too long after that, I got accepted into a professional program with full tuition waiver and research assistantship. I am also better settled geographically and have an upcoming wedding. Although everything has not reached a final completion, I feel a lot more settled in all those areas of my life and I am thankful to God for that. Apart from these physical turning points in my life, I also experienced spiritual turning points. I have come to better understand my identity in Christ as a child of God. I know God better as a father who is for me, and not against me. Even through difficult times, God is working out everything for my good. He loves me and is with me through thick and thin. I thank God for helping me overcome my fears by helping me trust Him more. I also learnt to overcome my worry by keeping my mind on things above where Christ is seated at the right hand of God in heaven, and not on things below. I want to share this testimony as an appreciation to God. I am truly grateful and thankful for His mercies and grace. I pray that anyone reading this will be encouraged and put their trust in God, through Jesus our Lord. Amen. All the glory is to God.
