Hawaii Mission Trip - Day 1

The Hawaii Team arrived on Saturday in Maui and is already hard at working serving the people in the community of Living Way Church.

Aloha to our COR Ohana (family in Hawaiian)!!

After traveling for 16 hours we made it safely to Kahului and connected with Pastor Greg Delacruz of Living Way Church (LWC)!

A big Mahalo (thank-you) to Megan Hamner, Steve Lane, Chris Cashman, Paty Nieto, Fancine Garcia, and Wendy Lane for all the prep work and support to get us here.  Mahalo to Matt Hamner for taking us to DCA at 3am this morning.  Mahalo to everyone who provided financial support to the team.  And Mahalo to Pastor Dale and Pastor Dino for the vision to allow this kind of a mission trip to happen.

We set up camp inside of LWC with our mattresses and sleeping bags and had an Ohana-style dinner with everyone at LWC, joined the youth service, then headed to the YMCA to take our showers.

Before turning in for the night the team shared thoughts on the brief experience we had with the people of LWC.  It's a very challenging environment with abuse, poverty, broken families, and shattered lives....and we are honored that God and COR sent us here to serve.

Each day will begin by joining the men's bible study at 7:30am and the ladies bible study at 8am. We will then cook and serve breakfast for everyone.

Mahalo once again for your support and prayers.
