West Virginia Outreach - Day 6
The past week in Greenbrier County has been a wonderful reminder that people are much more alike than we are different. We all need the same things, and we're in this thing together. The stories of the homeowners, ministry leaders, and fellow volunteers all reflected God's activity and intervention in the lives of those who need Him - all of us. This afternoon, I recalled part of our pre-trip training during which we considered the importance of team members learning to contribute in areas that may not be their strengths. Little did I know that this idea would parallel our activities on the work sites so precisely. A fitting verse encouraged me after returning from our work yesterday. Hebrews 6:10 (NIV) says, "God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them." At the end of the day, we said our goodbyes and gratitude flowed as we embraced new friends who were complete strangers just a few days prior. Now we're back home and eager to see how God uses what He deposited into our hearts moving forward. Here we go!
